The Institute for Bioengineering Research provides a highly collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research. The Institute was founded on the principle that the fusion of knowledge from diverse disciplines will lead to innovative solutions to seemingly intractable problems. The Institute’s mission is to provide a research, teaching, and scholarly environment that promotes creativity, while catalyzing the collaborations that will solve problems impacting the health, well-being and quality of life for individuals of all ages.
There are capabilities available for monomer and polymer synthesis, peptide engineering, protein expression and purification, diverse analytical capabilities for characterizing synthetic materials, hybrid materials (materials that integrate macromolecules with synthetic matrices), biological tissues, cell and tissue/material interfaces. There are also capabilities for photoacoustic imaging and biomedical ultrasound technologies.
The instrumentation within the Institute for Bioengineering Research Laboratories is used for both research and teaching. For more information regarding the instrumentation contact:
