Matthew Kavanaugh is a senior undergraduate student, majoring in Chemical Engineering with a Biomedical Concentration. For the past three years, he has worked in Dr. Tamerler’s lab, helping produce and investigate the characteristics and applications of novel biomaterials. His specific work deals with surface characterization of proteins via Atomic Force Microscopy, and he hopes to expand into working with Quartz Crystal Microbalances or Surface Plasmon Resonance to investigate protein-binding kinetics.
