Dr. Ott earned her Ph.D. in Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering Fall 2014. Her research focused on biomaterial synthesis and characterization. She was researching ways to provide new methods for surgeons looking help young patients with a narrowed airway. She designed a synthetic material that could replace rib cartilage as an option to expand the trachea for infants and toddlers with a narrowed airway. Dr. Ott is continuing her research as a postdoctoral researcher at KU Medical Center.
