Awards 2016


  • Cate Wisdom, BioE Ph.D. student and BERC graduate research assistant, placed second in the poster session of the  2016 Graduate Engineering Association (GEA) Annual Graduate Research Poster & Presentation Competition.
  • Brandon Tomas, undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Tamerler's lab, was named a 2016 K-INBRE Undergraduate Scholarship recipient. K-INBRE supports undergraduate biomedical research.
  • Dr. Candan Tamerler, Bio-mediated and Biomimetic Materials Director, and Dr. Cory Berkland, BioE Faculty Affiliate, will be inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering's elite during AIMBE's 25th Annual Meeting at the National Academy of Sciences Great Hall in Washington, D.C. on April 4, 2016. They will be inducted into the AIMBE College of Fellows Class of 2016. Drs. Tamerler and Berkland join their BERC colleagues Drs. Detamore, Misra, and Spencer as AIMBE Fellows.   
  • Dr. Anil Misra, BERC Associate Director, was approved for sabbatical during Spring 2016 to travel to China.
